This is by far the most challenging cross stitch project I have ever undertaken.  The entire image is made up of stitching ~ thousands of tiny crosses ~ in a vast array of colours.

Rocky Point

11" x 17" on 18 count Aida fabric

Completed in August 2002

2002-08_rocky_pointThis image of a Lighthouse spoke to me at a time when I was grieving for the loss of my father.  The turbulent waves crashing against the weathered rocks echoed my sorrow and anguish whilst the bright colours of the sunset gave me hope that happiness was on the horizon.

By far the most ambitious counted cross stitch I have ever attempted, it took almost a year to complete.

To this day, it remains un-framed... there's simply too much raw emotion entwined within the stitches... scars I cannot yet face on a daily basis...
