Today I am grateful for...

...Sundays.  Sundays filled the nothing but indulgences.  Nourishing my body, heart, and soul.  Beginning with crochet and Scandal...

...and catching glimpses of our delicious furry friends...

Then finding something in the letter box that made me smile...

...as this sculpture sits on our antique sewing machine table...

I am also grateful for discount vouchers to the movies...

...and friends to go with...

I wasn't expecting the story of Lion to hold my attention for an entire feature length movie.  I was right.  Don't get me wrong, it is a moving story.  But not as powerful as others I've seen recently (Collateral Beauty and Hidden Figures).  I'm not entirely sure if it was the movie that was somehow lacking, or the enormous emotional journey I have been on the past few weeks, but I sat there feeling pretty numb.  It was only at the end, when they showed a collage of photo and footage of the real people that the emotions hit me.

Then I came home.

To an empty house.

And fell apart.

So much hurt and disappointment to process... And so much strength and love to acknowledge and embrace...

I will be okay.  I will be better than okay.

But my GOD the silence is deafening.

Tonight I really wish I wasn't alone.
