Today I am grateful for...

...days spent indulging in complete and utter relaxation.  Beginning with Pilates of course ~ because that too contributes towards relaxation.

I know, it sounds weird, but Pilates offers me emotional as well as physical health benefits.  It quiets my (often racing) mind.  In many ways, it is similar to mindfulness practice.  The only (obvious) difference being that at Pilates I'm also physical exerting my body whilst focusing on my breathing.  Let me tell you, its considerably easier to quiet your mind when you're busy trying to get your body to do things it may not necessarily want to be doing!

I have watched a lot of movies in the past week or so.  A LOT of movies.  First up, "A United Kingdom" which I absolutely adored.  I'm currently really into historical stories ~ whether on stage or on the silver screen ~ and even Mini-Me enjoyed this one (although she found it a bit slow going at times).  I then went to see "Why Him?".  It was hilarious.  My friend and I laughed the whole way through ~ even when we were the only two in the theatre laughing.  I think that had a lot to do with are ages ~ the vast majority of the fellow patrons weren't old enough to have teenaged/young adult daughters.  Heck, most weren't old enough to have children of their own!  Last night's movie, "Paterson", was very different altogether.  An art house movie that had been recommended to me as something I will fall in love with.  Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.  Perhaps I was tired.  Perhaps I was less than comfortable in the (rather old) theatre.  But I found the movie somewhat lacking.  However, I am grateful that I have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of theatre experiences.
